Future strategy
In 2002 the Park Royal Partnership worked with advisers Martin Crookston from Llewellyn Davies, Professor Sir Peter Hall from the Bartlet School of Architecture, and Tony Travers, and Ricky Burdett of the LSE to produce an ambitious 10 year strategy. The strategy included targets for the area, many of which have already been exceeded – see the Halfway report. In the last six years £2 million of public sector grants have leveraged £58 million of private sector investment.
PRP wants to attract businesses into Park Royal, and to retain current businesses. We want to show that this is a place which is safe and easy to access, where people feel happy to come and work, so we have put together a £100,000 package, including £25,000 from Design for London, to make the walking environment and public spaces better for business. Businesses will be able to prioritise and manage the local improvements to their own areas, supported by PRP – Business management associations have already been set up in key areas.
