Bakers are us!

London South Bank University is the home to the oldest bakery school in the world - The National Bakery School, established 1894.

Each year the students on the Foundation Degree in Baking Technology and Management are required to undertake an eight week industrial placement during the summer term break.

By the time they are ready for their placement they are suitably equipped in subjects such as bakery, food science, production management, food safety management, health and saefty management, raw materials and product analysis and testing, and the technology and design of flour confectionery.
