The Marketplace is a new business initiative by Park Royal Partnership, which has been launched as part of our new subsidiary company Park Royal London.

The fundamental business drivers for this proposition are that small businesses are often unable to attract competitive discounts for products and services because the volumes they produce are small and infrequent. Equally, large businesses that are able to offer more competitive rates for products and services struggle to penetrate the SME Market because the cost to penetrate the SME market is prohibitive.

Under Park Royal London we have developed a brokerage service whereby we group together individual company procurement contracts thus increasing volume in order to attract interest from leading local and national service providers and leverage more competitive price structures for SMEs in the Park Royal Area.

Park Royal London is launched in response to strong demand from resident businesses. In recent months local companies have been hit hard by falling margins as a result of increasing raw material and operating costs, increased competition and price sensitivity. Our aim is quite simple – to bring together the collective buyer power of local businesses in order to attract discounts only accessible to large corporates.

Park Royal is London’s largest industrial economy, home to 2000 businesses and 40,000 employees. Though the estate is dominated by small and medium sized enterprises, businesses on the estate spend in excess of £200 million per annum on essential services such as electricity, gas, waste recycling, postage, insurance, IT and telephony. However, small businesses fail to attract keen prices because volumes are small and infrequent, whilst leading suppliers struggle to penetrate the small business market because the costs of sale relative to income are prohibitive.

The concept of collective procurement is well established; however Park Royal London’s position is unique as it is also designed to drive operational efficiencies by harnessing business proximity and density.  Some of the services available to businesses through Park Royal London are Park Royal Insurance, Park Royal Waste & Recycling, Park Royal Energy and Park Royal Postal Services. In developing these services we have partnered with national leading providers and member companies.
